An Open Badge is a digital certificate of disciplinary knowledges, personal skills (soft skills) and technical skills acquired. It is a photo that provides something of you: something that you are able to do, activities you have participated in.
It consists in a graphic section, the image, and some specifics, the metadata, which allow you to verify the person who earned it, the descriptive contents, who issued it and methods to verify it.
They are hosted within a dedicated platform, following an open source format, readable by all applications that read Open Badges (in our case Bestr CINECA).
It is internationally recognized and can be used in electronic curricula and in social networks (e.g. linkedin) to communicate in a synthetic and credible way, what you have learned, how and your outcomes.
