TutorLab 4 Inclusion - Academic Tutorship

The University of Trieste is very active at the international level both in research and in hosting foreign students and researchers.
Thanks to the - MoU - Memorandum of Understanding per studiosi Rifugiati e richiedenti asilo (MoU - Memorandum of Understanding for Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Scholars), which has been signed with several research bodies and scientific institutions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the University is promoting various initiatives aimed at supporting refugees scholars and students.

Moreover, the University of Trieste is one of the co-founder and active member of the Executive Board of the Italian section of Scholars at Risk, with the aim of promoting academic freedom and protecting displaced scholars whose lives are in danger or whose work is seriously compromised.

One of the first step was the organization of a training course, TutorLab 4 Inclusion - Academic Tutorship, to train student tutors for the academic and social inclusion of foreign students and student refugees in the academic life of the University of Trieste.
The course ended in 2020 with great satisfaction of participants, who produced useful materials for incoming students, which will be disseminated within the University.
