Predicting earthquakes

Prof. Giuliano F. Panza, former Professor of Seismology at the University of Trieste and National Member of Accademia dei Lincei, recently published an article in the December 2019 number 148 of Prometeo, a quarterly magazine dedicated to science and history.  In the article, Prof. Giuliano F. Panza illustrates the methods that currently allow predicting earthquakes and how reliable the forecasts are. It also explains how effective preventive actions can be taken with medium-term forecasting algorithms.  The text of the magazine Prometheus is attached. 

On the same topic, it should be noted that Prof. Giuliano F. Panza, former Professor of Seismology at the University of Trieste and National Member of Accademia dei Lincei, will be a guest in the episode "Infinite earthquake" of Presa diretta broadcast on RAI3 at 9.20 pm on Sunday 8 March p.v.
