Master's degree in Robotics. Assigned scholarships to students

12 July, 2019

On 27 June, at the Sala Cacciaguerra of the University of Trieste, the Award Ceremony and official delivery of the Master in Robotics scholarships offered by innovative companies in the region took place.

Robotics is one of the fastest growing industrial sectors in the world, with the forecast of an annual growth of more than 15% per year in the next five years. This will lead to the creation of new professions, which will have to be able to manage innovative and interdisciplinary technologies.

In this context, the Master in Robotics of the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste is the first second-level Master in Italy to provide graduate students in Engineering, Physics and Mathematics with the tools to position themselves effectively in an increasingly dynamic and competitive labor market.

The Master is directed by Prof. Paolo Gallina, with Prof. Alessandro Fraleoni Morgera as scientific director and is supported by the Director of the Department of Engineering and Architecture, Prof. Ilaria Garofolo.

The substantial scholarships have been made available by Wartsila, Danieli, EuroTech and CMA Robotics.

The students who won the cheque were: Sandra Querin, Sicong Li, Francesco Rapolla and Michele Crevatin.

The Rector, Prof. Maurizio Fermeglia, took part in the Ceremony. During his speech he declared that "the Master is one of the flagships of the University of Trieste and has been built around the real needs of the local production world and the prompt and enthusiastic response of companies, both in contributing to the teaching and in supporting it with their own resources, confirms that we are on the right track. The works of the future will be influenced by robotics, artificial intelligence and big data: at the University of Trieste we are equipping ourselves for the productive world to come".

Also present were the top management of Confindustria Venezia Giulia and the representatives of the financing companies that are giving the winning students the opportunity to carry out their internship at their industrial facilities.
