First T4EU week at UniTS: 100 international guests announced

01 June, 2023

The University of Trieste will host its first T4EU Week from 5 to 9 June 2023, an international event which is part of the Transform4Europe Alliance, of in which UniTS has been a part since its foundation.

"Transborder Europe" is the main topic that will be explored in seminars and workshops addressed to the delegations of students, lecturers and administrative staff: over a hundred guests will come to Trieste from the nine European countries (France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia) where the partner universities of the alliance, funded by the European Commission, are based.

PROGRAMME

The programme organised by UniTS will be wide ranging and multidisciplinary, strongly oriented towards the challenges facing this generation of university students: from global communication to the history of the Adriatic border; from the consequences of climate change on international security and political stability to innovation and enterprise, not forgetting accessible communication and sustainable mobility.

There will also be naturalistic excursions and social events to strengthen the spirit of integration and cooperation, making the experience even more memorable: from typical dinners to guided tours of the city, museums and the marine reserve, not to mention sports and cultural entertainment.

In particular, on Tuesday 6 June, at 6.30 p.m., in Piazzale Europa, guests will be able to attend a jazz music concert by the students of the Conservatorio Tartini in Trieste, with the spectacular background of the sunset over the sea which can be admired from the main building of our University.

The T4EU week will represent a great opportunity to confirm the international vocation of the University of Trieste and to present to the whole European Alliance network the peculiarities of the didactic and scientific research offer of UniTS, the great opportunities offered by the Knowledge System present on the territory and the richness of a varied and original cultural and environmental heritage.

The Trieste meeting is part of the rich calendar of events of Transform4Europe, which includes many opportunities to attend courses in English focused on the development of transversal skills, but also frequent "weeks", organised in turn by each partner university, which allow short experiences abroad to all members of the university community.

The aim of the 'weeks' is to enrich the skills of students, lecturers and staff and consolidate the project of building the European university of the future through short international mobility experiences.

The first T4EU week at UniTS will officially start at 10 a.m. on Monday 5 June: in the Aula Magna of Building A, the opening plenary session will take place with a welcome to all guests and the institutional speeches to greet them.
