If you graduate in a ‘post-reform’ course of study (D.M.509/99 or D.M.270/04), you can request issue of a Diploma Supplement.

This is a document in Italian and/or English that supplements the qualification obtained with details regarding the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies undertaken. Its aim is to ensure fair recognition by universities and employers, even abroad. It is organised according to the European model and divided into eight sections: personal details, description of the qualification, level of the qualification, description of the study programme, the examinations passed and the mark system, the use of the qualification, any additional information, certification, and description of the national system of higher education.

How to request the Diploma Supplement

Print and complete the Request Form.

The title of your thesis must also be translated into English. Include this only if you did not already insert it when compiling the degree application online.

You can submit the form to the Student Secretariat of your course of study in one of the following ways:

personally at the Secretariat office together with a document of identity;
by post Università degli Studi di Trieste – Segreteria Studenti of ...(specify your course of study) - P.le Europa, 1 - I- 34127 TRIESTE, including a front/back copy of a document of identity;
via fax to: 040/5583100) or via e-mail (to the mailbox of your course of study), attaching a front/back copy (or scan) of a document of identity;

As soon as the Diploma is ready, you will receive an email to the address you have indicated.

If the Diploma is for use abroad, and the foreign authority requires legalisation of the signature, mark the box on the form and once you have received the Diploma, contact the Prefecture – Territorial Office of the Government of Trieste ( Prefettura – Ufficio Territoriale del Governo di Trieste).

How to obtain the Diploma Supplement

Via mail to the address indicated (Without stamp or signature)
Personally, or by delegating a third person by providing a written and signed authorisation and a front/back copy of your document of identity, from the Secretariat of your course of study;
By designating a private courier, at your expense, and indicating the details in your mail. You will be advised when the diploma is ready and the courier should collect it from the Ufficio postale dell’Ateneo - P.le Europa 1, central building, ground floor, right wing, from Monday to Friday 8.00 – 13.00 (ph.: 040 5583048). The envelope will be addressed to you and the courier will need to specify this.
