Il Convegno si concentra sul ruolo delle scienziate nei dibattiti sullo sviluppo durante la Guerra Fredda e sull’attivismo femminile nei movimenti per l’ambiente in Italia e nel mondo.
Saranno approfondite singole figure di studiose e attiviste così come il loro ruolo giocato nelle Organizzazioni Internazionali e nei movimenti antinucleari o per la difesa dell’ambiente.
L'evento si svolgerà al Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici, Sala Atti "Arduino Agnelli", Androna Campo Marzo 10, Trieste.
E' organizzato dal gruppo di ricerca dell’Università di Trieste nell’ambito del Prin 2017 “Inventing the Global Environment. Science, Politics, Advocacy and the Environment-Development Nexus in the Cold War and Beyond”.
Il Convegno, che potrà essere seguito anche online, si svolgerà in lingua inglese e italiana. Il 21 aprile è previsto un servizio di traduzione in lingua inglese.

The Conference "Women Scientists, Development, and Environmental Citizenship: Scientific Transnational Organizations and Public Activism” focuses on the role of women scientists in development debates during the Cold War and on women's activism in national and international environmental movements. Individual female scholars and activists will be examined as well as their role in International Organizations and in anti-nuclear or environmental movements.
The Conference is organized by the research group of the University of Trieste within the Prin 2017 "Inventing the Global Environment. Science, Politics, Advocacy and the Environment-Development Nexus in the Cold War and Beyond".
