“Envisioning the Port of the Future: the 2030 horizon”

Docks the Future Midterm Conference

Trieste, April 4th 2019

University of Trieste, Department of Engineering and Architecture, will present the results of the Horizon 2020 research project AEOLIX led by the European Road Transport Telematics Implementation Coordination Organisation – Intelligent Transport Systems and Services Europe (ERTICO – ITS Europe), with the participation of 12 countries as project partners.

Trieste is one of the thirteen Living Lab, led by the Operational Research Group of the University of Trieste, coordinated by Prof. Walter Ukovich, together with the dry-port of Fernetti, Samer & Co. Shipping and the support of Polytechnic of Bari and AutoLogS.

AEOLIX improves the overall competitiveness of goods transport in supply chain. The aim is attained by enabling low-complexity and low cost connectivity of local ICT platforms and systems and thereby scalable, trusted and secure exchange of information, establishing a cloud-based collaborative logistics ecosystem through a comprehensive architecture for a digitally secure and regulated logistics services and information-sharing platform.

The presentation will be held in the context of the Docks the Future Midterm Conference titled “Envisioning the Port of the Future: the 2030 horizon”, organized by Circle S.p.A. (Italy) and Magellan Association – EU Affairs Consultancy (Portugal) and hosted by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea.

The conference will be the turning point to present the project results achieved thus far, validating concepts, topics and targets for the Port of the Future.
