  • July 2019: The paper "Nonlinear system identification using Wiener basis functions and multiple-variance perfect sequences" by A. Carini, S. Orcioni, A. Terenzi, S. Cecchi, has been published on Signal Processing.
  • June 2019: Dr. Akihiko (Ken) Sugiyama of Yahoo! JAPAN Research has visited us and presented an interesting lecture about "Signal Enhancement in Consumer Products".
  • March 2019: The paper "Nanostructured P3HT as a promising sensing element for real-time, dynamic detection of gaseous acetone", by C. Bertoni, P. Naclerio, E. Viviani, S. Dal Zilio, S. Carrato, and A. Fraleoni-Morgera, has been published on Sensors.
  • December 2018: Dr. Alfredo Canziani, a former student of our University and presently a Post-Doc Associate at NYU, has visited us and is kindly cooperating with IPL in the field of Machine Learning.
  • November 2018: We are happy to announce that prof. Alberto Carini from the University of Urbino has joined IPL with a permanent position of Associate Professor.
  • June - July 2018: Dr. Jhilik Bhattacharya, from Thapar University, Punjab, India, is spending two months in Trieste, visiting our laboratory.

  • January 2018: The paper "Age-dependent prediction of visible differences in displayed images", by R.K. Mantiuk and G.Ramponi, has been published on the J. of the Soc. for Inf. Display.
  • March 2017: The paper "BIBO-Stable Recursive Functional Link Polynomial Filters", by A. Carini and G.L. Sicuranza, has been published on the IEEE Trans. on Signal Processing.
  • December 2016 - June 2017: Dr. Jhilik Bhattacharya, from Thapar University, Punjab, India, is spending a sabbatical term visiting our laboratory.
  • May and November 2016: Three papers related to our project about assistive tehnologies for visually impaired users were presented at two international conferences.
  • March-July 2016: Prof. Herbert Frey, from Hochschule Ulm, is spending a sabbatical term visiting our laboratory
  • March 2016: The paper "Design and optimization of a modular setup for measurements of three-dimensional spin polarization with ultrafast pulsed sources" has been published on Review of Scientific Instruments, vol. 87, no. 3, 2016.
  • March 2016: The paper "A new detector system for low energy X-ray Fluorescence coupled with soft X-ray microscopy: First tests and characterization," has been published on Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, vol. 816, pp. 113 - 118, 2016.
  • September 2015: A Special Session has been organized at the Eurasip EUSIPCO 2015 conference in Nice, France, entitled "Nonlinear signal and image processing - a celebration in honour of Giovanni L. Sicuranza on his 75th birthday". Thirteen papers have been presented on themes connected to the research lines that Prof. Sicuranza followed in his long and fruitful career. The authors of the papers came from university and industrial labs in the US, UK, Finland, Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, and Italy.
  • September 2015: Two papers dealing with the least-squares approximation of second-order nonlinear systems and, respectively, to a model of the human vision system that includes age dependencies have been presented at the Eurasip EUSIPCO 2015 conference in Nice, France.
  • August 2015: Two papers devoted to a state of the art analysis in the field of Assistive Technologies based on Image Processing for People with Visual Impairments have been accepted for presentation at ISPA 2015 and ACIVS 2015.
  • July 2015: The paper "First results of a novel Silicon Drift Detector array designed for low energy X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy " has been accepted for publication on Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment.
  • May 2015: The paper "Parallel optical read-out of micromechanical pillars applied to prostate specific membrane antigen detection", by Martina Tardivo, Valeria Toffoli, Giulio Fracasso, Daniele Borin, Simone Dal Zilio, Andrea Colusso, Sergio Carrato, Giacinto Scoles, Moreno Meneghetti Marco Colombatti, Marco Lazzarino, has been published on Biosensors and Bioelectronics (vol. 72 (2015), pp. 393-399).
  • May 2015: The paper "Impact of Mini-drone Based Video Surveillance on Invasion of Privacy", by Pavel Korshunov, Margherita Bonetto, Touradj Ebrahimi and Giovanni Ramponi, has been accepted for presentation at the IEEE Conference on Image Processing, ICIP 2015, Québec City, Canada, 27-30 Sept. 2015.
  • March 2015: The paper "Development of a Timepix3 readout system based on the Merlin readout system", by G. Crevatin, I. Horswell, D. Omar, N. Tartoni, S. Carrato, and G. Cautero, has been published on Journal of Instrumentation.
  • February 2015: The paper "Privacy in Mini-drone Based Video Surveillance", by Margherita Bonetto, Pavel Korshunov, Giovanni Ramponi, and Touradj Ebrahimi, has been accepted for presentation at the IEEE Workshop on De-identification for Privacy Protection in Multimedia, Ljubljana, Slo, May 4, 2015.
