The UniTS Academy

The CLab is set up as an aggregator of innovative teaching programmes and a support service for the creation of new businesses. This new container will provide areas for innovative teaching and co-working, and a “making corner” for prototype development.

In addition to the co-working provided to the winners of the selection competitions, the Contamination Lab (CLab) offers all UniTS students a mentoring service and access to thematic seminars, as well as internship and training events.

Learning (creating business and employability)

Understand so as to re-mix.

The teaching programme will be multi-disciplinary and systemic, ranging from soft skills to specific expertise in business planning and innovation as a manufacturing system.

The Academy is also a place to meet companies and attend career counselling seminars aimed at strengthening active job searching, self-branding and the ability to exploit individual potential and employability.

“Always educate your spirit and never stop learning” (Catone)

Mentoring

Support, knowledge and skills available to projects.

The Contamination Lab provides consultancy on topics such as the strategic management of intellectual property, business planning and open innovation. This will help in the creation of innovative businesses (business model and business planning), in building up and managing intellectual property, and in acquiring  skills and operational know-how to use for internships in the employment market.

“The Master opens the door, but you have to enter yourself”. (Chinese proverb)

Co-working

Open spaces to grow ideas.

Participants share common study and work areas where they can develop their projects with the support of experts from different business sectors and so feel part of a community.

The Contamination Lab is a fully-fledged interdisciplinary study, work and innovation group. The experts, teaching staff and students in the group create “functional interdependence” which exploits and complements their various specific skills and seeks to realise a common aim.

“If you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas” (George Bernard Shaw)

Making

It is the place where ideas become reality.

A multi-disciplinary laboratory, a place where old and new professions can meet and try out new ideas to combine teaching and innovation and transform projects into prototypes.

With a set of innovative tools, the Academy offers an easy-to-use rapid prototyping service which could become a facilitating factor for the development of potential “Proofs of Concept” deriving from the proposed projects.
