The University of Trieste is part of the following International Networks:


 

SGroup

Since October 1988, the University has been member of the Santander Group, being one of the co-founder universities of this European network. The University of Trieste is very active within the network, namely through the participation of its faculty staff members and officers in the annual meetings, conferences and networks.

EUA - European Universities Association

For more than 20 years the University of Trieste has been member of the Conference of European Rectors - CRE, a European association which has actually evolved in a new association called European University Association, born out of the merger of the CRE and AEU (Association of European Universities).

The EUA main activities deal with the co-ordination of the European university policies and the promotion of meetings among universities all over Europe.

IUC - Inter-University Centre of Dubrovnik

In 1987 the University of Trieste became member of the Inter-University Centre of Dubrovnik, an international association which is particularly concerned with scientific and cultural activities.

During the period of the war in the Balkans the Association suspended some of its activities, but it attempted to continue the scientific ones, even among several difficulties.

Today the Association is again very active in pursuing its former task, the mutual understanding and respect among peoples and culture, and in launching courses, seminars and conferences.

AARC - Alpe Adria

AARC is constituted to promote dialogue among the higher educational institutions of the Alps Adriatic regions in the fields of education, scientific research and didactics. AARC is engaged in supporting collaboration of teachers and students in different academic fields.

AARC cooperates with the requisite institutions of the European Union in scientific research and in the different cycles of higher educational training, including life-long learning.

DRC - Danube Rector's Conference

The Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC) is a strong network of almost 70 universities in the region of the Danube, which flows from the Black Forest to the Black Sea.

Our aim is to improve higher education in teaching and research, and the advancement of our member universities by establishing sustainable contacts.

CEI University Network

Founded in 1989, the CEI is a regional intergovernmental forum committed to supporting European integration through cooperation among its Member States. It combines multilateral diplomacy and project management, both as donor and recipient, while bridging European macro-regions.

UNIADRION

UNIADRION is a voluntary, trans-national and non-profit making association of Universities and Research Centers. The association has been established (2000, Ravenna Conference) with the purpose to create a permanent connection among Universities and Research and Development Centers of excellence of the Adriatic and Ionian Basin, thus strengthening the inter-university cooperation and the strategy of the Adriatic-Ionian Macroregion.

The co-operation is multidisciplinary and covers the following areas: protection, cataloguing and promotion of cultural heritage, environment and sustainable development, cultural tourism and development, economics, communication, harbours and trade relations; structure and organisation of the Uniadrion network.

EURAS – Eurasian Universities Union

In 2017 the University of Trieste has become full member of the Eurasian University Union - EURAS and the Rector is member of its Executive board.

Launched in 2008, EURAS is a union covering universities and other Higher Education Institutions within the Eurasian region.

EURAS is a non-profit international association, promoting cooperation among over 90 universities from across West and Central Europe, Balkans, Caucasus, Middle East as well as the whole of Asia and working for the global advancement of educational standards in the Eurasian region.

Being the cradle of all known civilizations and having the 2/3 of all the world population, the Eurasian region represents a center of excellence in terms of educational developments and cultural flows.

By building an international educational platform for regional universities, EURAS serves its members as a gateway to reach the best educational services word wide.

SAR - Scholars at Risk

In 2017, the University of Trieste has become member of the Scholars at Risk – SAR network.

Scholars at Risk is an international network of institutions and individuals, whose mission is to protect scholars and promote academic freedom.

By arranging temporary academic positions at member universities and colleges, SAR offers safety to scholars facing grave threats, aiming to protect scholars’ ideas and to keep working until their conditions improve and they are able to return to their home countries.

Scholars at Risk also provides advisory services for scholars and hosts, campaigns for scholars, who are imprisoned or silenced in their home countries, by deploying new tools and strategies for promoting academic freedom and improving respect for university values everywhere.

EAIE - European Association for International Education

Founded in 1989, the European Association for International Education - EAIE is the acknowledged European centre for expertise, networking and resources in the internationalisation of higher education.

EAIE is a non-profit, member-led organisation, serving individuals actively involved in the internationalisation of their institutions through a combination of training, conferences and knowledge acquisition and sharing. EAIE equips academic and non-academic professionals with best practices and workable solutions to internationalisation challenges and provide a platform for strategic exchange.

Several academic and administrative staff members of the University of Trieste are EAIE members.
